Dalaman
As of 2006, Dalaman Airport
became an international airport,
with domestic flights from
cities such as Ankara and
Istanbul. The town of Dalaman is
located 10-15 minutes drive

The Dalaman Valley is very
fertile and every season offers
you an abundance of fruit and
vegetables. Since there are
always plenty of vegetables,
local vegetable dishes are rich
and widely consumed. Some of the
green plants not even known in
big cities, such beetroot,
mustard, mallow, nettle, clayey,
patience, purslane and yellow
herb, are turned into delicious
meals in the hands of local
women. You can sample some of
these in Dalaman’s restaurants.
The shores of Dalaman are on the
route of the Blue Cruise. On the
Blue Cruise route the boats go
to the coves of Sarsala, Büngüs,
Siralibük, Kursunlu and Tasyaka
(Bedri Rahmi) on the Kapidag
Peninsula. All these coves are
of extraordinary beauty.
Dalyan
Dalyan is a small resort closely
located to International Dalaman
airport, with around 4000
residents. Dalyan, together with
Iztuzu beach, one of the most
important habitats in the
Turkish Mediterrenean Coast. It
is situated on the east bank of
the Dalyan Channel, emptying the
waters of the Köycegiz Lake into
the sea. Lake Köycegiz lies at
the head of the delta which is
formed into a natural harbour.
The delta became a home to all
manner of flora and fauna and
Iztuzu beach became one of the
last remaining natural nesting
sites for Loggerhead Sea
Turtles. Dalyan was and still is
an important settlement with
fertile land and rich fish
resource. The area is a real
tourist hot-spot. Each year,
thousands of tourists travel to
Dalyan and discover the region
in a fantastic way by river
boats. They are available from
the town to head upstream to
Lake Köycegiz stopping at
Sultaniye Thermal Baths or the
simple mud baths. From there the

headland from ancients Carian
city of Caunos. When here, climb
to the top of Acropolis. This
Turkey's one of the most famous
sites dates to the 9th century
B.C.
The entire region is a paradise
for walkers with endless trecks.
Also, sea kayaking in the Dalyan
River is very popular.
The town is located on the back
of the river with the wide
selections of restaurants and
bars which most of them on the
waterfront.
Dalyan is the only place where
you can eat delicious BLUE
CRABS.
Fethiye
Fethiye has a bustling,
atmospheric harbour as well as

backstreets with excellent shops
and restaurants. The promenade
is also lined with bars and
restaurants, and the harbour

the opportunity to set out to
sea with many boats offering
sailing trips in the summer.

of town.
The Fethiye area covers the more
seasonal resorts such as Calis,
Ovacik, Hisaronu and Olu Deniz.
The trip from Fethiye to Calis
takes 10-15 minutes by mini bus.
Calis has a shingle beach and a
refreshing breeze throughout the
summer months which make it the
ideal place for relaxation.
Ovacik and Hisaronu blend in to
one in the summer months and are
alive with bars and restaurants
and shops of every description.
Most non-essential facilities do
however close in the winter. It
is an easy walk (15 minutes) or
a short drive (2-5 minutes) to
the centre of Hisaronu which is
an area that appeals to people
of all ages. The surrounding

clad forests create a fabulous
setting.
Olu Deniz (3km from Hisaronu,
12km from Fethiye) has an
atmosphere of laid back
sophistication. The promenade

30 minutes off the journey.
Sarigerme
Sarigerme is a village itself
Osmaniye, so Sarigerme is the
name of the golden sandy beach,
not the name of the area or the
village. Osmaniye village is 850
m inland from the shore.
It is 15 minutes to Dalaman
International Airport.

named Baba Adasi protecting the
beach and very convenient

Koycegiz
Koycegiz is a district of Mugla
Province of Turkey.
The town of Koycegiz lies at the
northern end of a lake of the
same name (Koycegiz Lake) which
is joined to the Mediterranean
Sea by a natural channel called
Dalyan Delta or simply as
Dalyan. Its unique environment
is being preserved as a nature
and wildlife sanctuary. A road
shaded with trees leads to the
township that carries the same
name as the delta, Dalyan, which
is situated on the inland
waterway, and which actually
depends the neighboring district
of Ortaca administratively.
Dalyan is highly popular with
visitors and its maze of
channels is explored by boat.
The restaurants which line the
waterways specialize in fresh
fish. High on the cliff face, at
a bend in the river, above the
ancient harbor city of Caunos,
tombs were carved into the
rocks. The Dalyan Delta, with a
long, golden sandy beach at its
mouth, is a nature conservation
area and a refuge for rare
loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta
Caretta) and blue crabs.
